Emma's Paperie: Oh, My Heart!

Good morning! Today I have a couple of projects to share with you for Emma's Paperie. The first is a layout for this month's sketch challenge. This sweet "True Love" collection (by Basic Grey) just spoke to me this month and I just had to use it to capture these photos of the girls loving on each other for Valentine's Day.

I pulled out some stamps as well - the little tiny hearts and xoxo border on the bottom. The set is an older Martha Stewart set. I also adore that little blue envelope.

I love the heart stitched garland in this collection!

The sketch had lots of strips of paper and I ended up flipping it so the strips were on the side instead of the bottom. The little doily is a new one by Bo Bunny and I placed a journaling tag from Elle's Studio in the center.

I also created this card for the color challenge this month using the new Collectable collection from My Mind's Eye.

And yes, I stamped again! :) This set is also from the Collectable collection from My Mind's Eye. (I'm trying to be better about stamping on my projects!)

Thanks for stopping by today! We're off to see a performance of The Ugly Duckling at the Civic Center this afternoon. Should be a fun time! :)

Shimelle: Just a Little Bit Shy

Good morning! Today I have a layout and tutorial to share that I created for Shimelle.com. I was so excited to be asked by Shimelle to put together a scrapbooking tutorial for her readers and decided to do one of my favorite techniques - stamping on vellum. I created this layout of our visit to the Easter Bunny last year using the brand new Amy Tangerine "Yes, Please" collection from American Crafts.

Here's a close-up of some of the details on my layout. The doily stamps are all My Mind's Eye and the Polaroid style stamp (with the polka dots) is one from Paper Trey Ink.

Please go to Shimelle's site if you want to see my tutorial of how I stamped on vellum

So, we are very much in the middle of a massive snowstorm. It has been snowing since yesterday morning and only stopped for about an hour yesterday. I think we have about 10 inches this time. We were able to go outside and play yesterday for awhile and built a snowman. I think our weather forecasters messed up because last week we only had 4 inches and were supposed to have 10. And this time we were only going to have 2 inches. Right. Oh well, I have actually been enjoying our snow days but I'm hoping they are the last ones we will see until next winter! Bring on spring! :)

Scrapbook Circle: Hello State Fair

Good morning! Today I have my last layout to share with you using the February kit from Scrapbook Circle. Every month I will be creating a two-page layout using the kit. I loved the bright colors and decided that photos from our trip to the Iowa State Fair last summer would be perfect! These are a combination of iPhone photos and our good camera.

For this layout, I created with a lot of the Glitz Color Me Happy collection and the Scrapbook Circle exclusives - tags, pins and the printable.

I cut apart several of the exclusive tags so I had arrows to draw the eye toward the center of the page.

Thanks for stopping by today! More to come soon! :)

Scrapbook Circle: 8 Years

Good morning! We're gearing up for a big snowstorm here! I'm a little excited about it but hoping it's the last one! I'm so ready for spring. Today I wanted to share another layout with this month's Scrapbook Circle kit. I shared a layout in an earlier post about our anniversary dates and here's one in action from 2 years ago.

I did some blocking with the papers in the 6x6 paper pad in the add-on and the 4x6 cards from a 12x12 Glitz patterned paper.

Love these exclusive pins in the kit!

Thanks for visiting today! We're likely going to be snowed in the next day or so! :)

webster's pages: 9 years

Happy Friday! If you are visiting for the American Crafts blog hop, please scroll down to the next post! (By the way, I have been having a lot of fun reading all about your Valentine's Day plans and my giveaway is open until Wednesday).

Today I have a layout to share with the new "Modern Romance" collection from Webster's Pages. I have to say I am sooooo disappointed in myself that I did not get photos of our 9th anniversary date last summer. I have made it a priority to get photos of us out on our date every single year (except last year) and make a layout that I keep in a special album. But luckily, my good friend, Carrie, had taken some photos of us in May just a couple months before our anniversary so I scrapbooked one of those photos and journaled about our date. You can bet I'll make sure to get special photos taken this summer on our 10th anniversary!

For a romantic layout, I pulled out the paper doilies, ribbon bows (a new Quick Pick from Webster's Pages) and some sequins.

I also stamped the date with a Dear Lizzy roller stamp and added a little new Webster's Pages washi tape and sequins. Love that mini rose trim for a little punch of color.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend! :)

Scrapbook Circle: The Story of the Ketchup

Good morning! I know I don't usually post on Sundays but today I have a new layout to share with the Story Time kit at Scrapbook Circle. (I announced it on facebook but haven't had the chance to do so here but I'll be joining the team there for the next 6 months.)

The Story Time kit was a great kit to dive into with its bright, happy colors to tell this story about how my grandma used to save ketchup packets. A little background - We used to tease grandma but she maintained this mantra, "You never know when you might need a little ketchup." Ha! When my husband and I went to Spain in 2004, I picked her up some Spanish ketchup packets as a little joke. My grandma passed away about 4 years ago and my aunt was going through some of her things and came across the packets. She had tucked them away and kept them all this time. When I saw the packets, it made me miss my grandma even more and her sentimental heart. Now to some people this might seem like a silly little story but it's a great memory I have of my grandma and I wanted to write about it.

The printable in this month's kit was a great spot to write a lot of journaling.

I used a sheet of paper from the 6x6 paper pad in the add-on as the base to build from the photo and then tucked in little tags, patterned paper and stickers here and there. I love the exclusive pins in the kit this month! Such a great embellishment!

There are a lot of great exclusives in the kit this month! Be sure to pick one up! :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Simple Stories: This Girl

Happy Saturday! Just wanted to share a layout with you this morning using the brand new "Vintage Bliss" collection from Simple Stories. The soft colors are great for spring photos as well as the girls in your life. My layout features little Miss Lily and some of my favorite things about her at the age of 3-1/2. Every so often I love to create layouts like this one that focus on particular areas of growth and development or personality traits.

I always like to layer my favorite patterned papers and that polka dot pink is too cute and matched the flowers on her dress. I will often use the bingo cards on my layouts to tuck in a word or two about my photo subject.

Lots of great stickers here - labels and phrases!

I added a crumpled up white paper doily for a little added texture. Simple Stories Basics are also great to use for layout backgrounds.

american crafts: Our 2 Favorite Girls

Good morning! Today I have a couple of projects to share for American Crafts that were on the blog earlier this week. My assignment was to create based on ads that I was inspired by. I went searching on Pinterest and found a couple of vintage ads and made these projects (you can see the ads I was inspired by on the American Crafts blog here).

We took some photos of the girls to celebrate them turning 3-1/2 this past fall so I used the sweet and girly pinks and greys in the 5th & Frolic collection on this layout.

And I created this card as well - very simple patchwork with a die-cut heart in the middle.

Thanks for stopping by today! It's raining and dreary here today, but we'll make the most of it! :)

emma's paperie: tiny dancers

Good morning! The designers at Emma's Paperie recently featured American Crafts products and since I absolutely adore all of their collections this was an easy layout for me to create! Last summer, the girls went to dance camp. They were absolutely adorable little ballerinas - dance camp had its highs and lows (namely the highs were the first and last sessions - we had lots of tears in the middle). I used the Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic collection for these photos. I still have some actual dancing photos I want to scrapbook but these were so fun they needed a page of their own.

I did a lot of layering of bits and pieces - scalloped and triangle banner pieces, vellum, patterned paper, chipboard, stickers and more.

One tip for writing on glossy stickers - use a heat gun to set the pen or marker you use.

For a complete supply list and instructions on how to make this layout, visit the Emma's Paperie blog here.

Thanks for stopping by today. We have had one girl sick since the weekend but I think she's slowly getting better. We are just hoping her sister doesn't get it (or mom or dad). Yesterday, she was feeling better so we were able to go to the Civic Center to see "Guess How Much I Love You." It was a great puppet show and the girls were so excited about it. I love taking advantage of educational opportunities like this one - the cost is covered by sponsors so we only have to pay $1 per ticket. Pretty great!

Have a great day! :)
