Emma's Paperie: Papa Gene's Girls

Happy Friday! Today I have a layout to share with you using the sketch this month at Emma's Paperie. The girls love spending time with "Papa Gene" as they call him - their Great-Grandpa Gene - and one of the last times he came to visit, I was able to get the girls to sit still long enough to get a picture with him. I love the new "What's Up?" collection by Basic Grey and the pretty coral color matched the girls outfits perfectly. I built the layout from the center of the sunburst patterned paper and then the rays help draw the eye out.

All of the alphabet stickers I used were by Basic Grey (love that little white cloud). The seam binding is from Stamp Anna Designs on etsy. Anna has the most beautiful colors in her shop. This layout is actually a preview for a little something I have up my sleeve next week featuring Anna's seam binding (including a giveaway!!!!)

Have a great Labor Day weekend and thanks for stopping by today! :)

Pebbles: USA Game Faces

Good morning! Today I have my last project to share with you for the Pebbles design team but it certainly won't be my last project using Pebbles products! I have had an absolute blast on the team this past year and created some of my very favorite projects and layouts. I used the "Let Freedom Ring" collection on this layout of the girls and their "game faces" for the summer Olympics.

For a complete supply list and to see the sketch I used, please visit the Pebbles blog here.

We just got back Saturday night from our first family vacation. We spent 3 nights in Minnesota (mostly in Minneapolis). We ate some great food, went to the Mall of America, Ikea, the Minnesota Zoo, the Children's Museum, Stillwater and White Bear Lake. The girls even had their first beach experience. It was a great getaway but vacations are a lot different with toddlers - not exactly relaxing - and we definitely wanted to get as much in as we could. I'm happy to be back home and back in our routine.

I'll be back soon! :)

Emma's Paperie: Up Up and Away We Go

Good morning! Just wanted to pop in quickly this morning to share a new layout with you for the color challenge at Emma's Paperie. I absolutely love the new Woodland Park collection from October Afternoon and used a lot of it on this layout of the girls at the National Balloon Classic. All of the photos are instagrams from my phone. I couldn't resist using the hot air balloon rub-on from Hambly.

For a complete supply list, please visit Emma's Paperie here. We're heading out on a little vacation tomorrow so I probably won't be back until next week. See you soon! :)

Webster's Pages: The Great Trick or Treat Marathon

Hello again! I have another project to share this week for Webster's Pages using the new "Once Upon a Halloween" collection and my cute little doctors from last Halloween. We went on a trick or treating marathon last year and it was so fun for them to say "trick or treat" and "thank you." And we never saw any other doctors out and about while we were at the local malls - they were too cute in their little scrubs! I printed out my favorite photos of our experiences in both color and black and white to create this two-page layout.

I am featuring Webster's Pages journaling cards on this layout and used them as a border across the top of my larger photos.

Meow. I am in love with that little cat.

See that little "count down to candy" sticker? Perfect for trick or treating pages!

I'm already thinking about Halloween costumes for this year and trying to come up with something unique. Thanks for stopping by today! More tomorrow...we're off to Adventureland today (a local theme park and water park). The girls are way excited! :)

Simple Stories: First Time Fishin' & Our Favorite Ride

Good morning! Today I have some Simple Stories projects to share with you! The first two are with the new "Take a Hike" collection. You would never guess it because I am such a girly girl but I absolutely LOVE to fish. My dad taught me how as a little girl and it's a pasttime that I want to pass onto my own children. The girls had fishing poles by their first birthday but we waited a little more realistically until they turned three for their first fishing experience. We had a family reunion this summer at a lodge with a pond where both girls had a chance to catch their first fish.

The triangles (which are actually punched squares cut in half) help draw the eye to the title.

One of my daughters kept screaming "It's alive!" so I had to include that as a sub-title. :)

While I had my supplies out, I also created a fishing themed birthday card for my dad. I love how this collection has so many activities included - fishing, camping, hiking and more!

I have another layout to share with you today using the "Summer Fresh" collection and my girls enjoying their favorite ride - the train - on the 4th of July. They went on the ride with their aunt and cousin and were so cute waving at us watching them. We featured Simple Stories at Emma's Paperie this past month and it's a great place to pick up all the new collections!

Webster's Pages Blog Hop: Be in the Moment

Welcome to the Webster's Pages blog hop where all the designers are featuring specific products from Park Drive and Once Upon a Halloween. You should have come here from the very talented Jamie Harder's blog. You can also go to the Webster's Pages blog to go through all the stops on the blog hop.

The colors in the new Park Drive collection are just beautiful. We took photos of the girls this past spring in our backyard in front of one of our trees and the coral color happened to match the colors in this collection just perfectly. As I was printing these photos, I was thinking about what to use for a title and I thought about how the two of them are just sitting so sweetly and quietly. It's little things like this that make me feel like time is slipping away and it was a good reminder for me to "be in the moment" (hence the title). I added some journaling on a card to tuck behind the photos. I scrapbook a lot about events in our family but I also take time to really journal from my heart and write love letters to my girls.

I am featuring the Park Drive Mini Messages stickers on my layout today. The "Dream Big" sentiment is from the sticker collection and I dressed it up a little with Webster's pearls.

I also love that "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" quote from Dr. Seuss and it was exactly the right fit for my photos and title. The date sticker is another Mini Message sticker.

If you would like to purchase the Park Drive collection, you can do so by visiting Webster's Pages website.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Be sure to leave a comment by Thursday and all the winners of the blog hop will be posted on the Webster's Pages blog on Friday.

Your next stop on the hop is the very lovely Jaz Lee Soo Hui. That girl does layers and details like no one else and I can't wait to see what she has come up with today!

Have a great day! :)

Emma's Paperie: Pretty Pink Piggies

Well, hello and Happy Saturday! I decided that after not updating with projects all week I better pop on today because next week is going to be jam packed with projects and I have a few that I haven't shared yet. At Emma's Paperie, the design team recently focused on misting. I admit I'm not really one to do a lot of technique based misting and mostly will sometimes just add a few splatters here and there. But I was drawn to this Pink Paislee doily mask (DOILIES!) and had to incorporate it into a girly page. I'll admit that I'm a girly girl at heart so I love doing things with the girls like painting their little toes. And they sit sooooo still while I'm doing it.

I used my very last bits and pieces of that Dear Lizzy polka dot vellum. LOVE.

I did some layering for the title with Dear Lizzy stickers and tags as well as a Crate Paper sticker label. That little doily was in a Studio Calico kit a long time ago and I managed to pick up a couple packages from people selling them.

For a complete supply list, please visit the Emma's Paperie blog here.

We have some very fun plans for the week ahead - the Iowa State Fair, Adventureland and a girls' night out. We're also debating going on a little family vacation. We also hope to hit the pool a few more times before it closes for the summer. I can't believe we're already into August and almost the middle of the month. Crazy.

Have a great weekend! :)

Emma's Paperie: The Saddest, Poutiest Birthday Girl & Giveaway

Happy Friday! I recently shared a photo of Nora blowing out her birthday candles and today I have a layout of Lily. Oh, Miss Lily. This girl has pouting down to a science. Just check out that sad face! I created this one using the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection from American Crafts.

I love the little stitched banner in this collection - it makes creating so simple!

I mixed and matched a bunch of alphabet stickers for the title.

For a complete supply list, please visit the Emma's Paperie blog here.

And today I'm doing a little giveaway in celebration of my good news with American Crafts. I happen to have an extra Dear Lizzy stamp set so I'm giving one away. Just leave a comment here and I'll draw a winner on Monday morning and post it on my blog.

Thanks for coming by today! :)

Elle's Studio: August Gallery

Good morning! I have a photo heavy post for you today as I reveal the projects I created for Elle's Studio and the August gallery. Stop by the gallery to see all of the beautiful projects by the design team! All of my projects were also created with the July kit from Noel Mignon.

First up, the girls were a little scared about swimming at Aunt Jaime's new pool because they couldn't touch the bottom but pretty soon wanted to do it "all by myself." (We hear that phrase quite often around here).

For my second layout, I recently picked up the hexagon die-cut plate from Papertrey Ink and used it to create a tone-on-tone effect with kraft cardstock. I also punched out a few hexagons (I used the die-cut as a honeycomb) in brightly colored patterned papers and I love the little pop of colors. Our favorite summertime treat is popsicles and the girls usually have to say "cheers" before they indulge.

I used foam adhesive on a few of the shapes for added dimension.

Finally, I also created this quick and easy card using 3 different Elle's Studio tags.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I'm hoping to pop in with a project tomorrow and a little giveaway! :)
