Seasons Givings Blog Hop!

Happy New Year! Today I'm excited to take part in a huge blog hop with over 100 designers and dozens of scrapbooking companies. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog this past year. I haven't always been the best at updating but I hope to change that in 2015 and expand on the topics I blog about - I usually stick to scrapbooking, party ideas, Stitch Fix and essential oils. ;) Every single blog on this hop will have a giveaway!

If you are new to my blog, here's a little bit about me: I have been married for 11 years and am momma to my 5-year-old twins. I stay home with them and we have embarked on a homeschooling adventure this year. I am currently designing for Webster's Pages and Gossamer Blue.

Feel free to find me on Instagram: @jillcornell or Pinterest

To be entered into my giveaway, please leave a comment and I'll choose my random winners on January 7th and announce them here.

Here's what I'm giving away!

1) An awesome assortment of products from Webster's Pages including a 6x6 paper pad, bookmarks, resin embellishments, flowers and bags and a ton of Life Pages cards from this year's Gossamer Blue kits. I've also included some exclusive stamp sets from Gossamer Blue and a cute Valentine's Day stamp set from Elle's Studio.

2) One lucky winner will also win a 5 ml bottle of Young Living's Peppermint oil. Over the past year, my family has fallen in LOVE with essential oils and I knew I wanted to include that love with my giveaway. We use peppermint oil for EVERYTHING - headaches, congestion, fevers, stomach aches and nausea - just to name a few.

3) And, finally winner #3 will receive these sample packets of Peppermint, Thieves and Lavender - three of my most used essential oils plus a Vanillamint lip balm. I've been carrying these lip balms with my everywhere this winter. It's a must have! If you are curious about oils too, please feel free to leave your email in the comments and I'll send you some info. My group has a "Winter Wellness" online class coming up in January.

Finally, I want to share a layout with you all too. This one features the January main kit from Gossamer Blue and my daughter, Nora. She lost her first tooth in November and it was important to me to document it.

One of the things I love most about the Gossamer Blue kits are the exclusives - printables, Life Pages cards, wood veneer, cork and more!

Oooh, I was excited to see those post pop up in my Feedly today! I use lavendar oil to help me sleep, but I've never used Theive's oil and I keep hearing so much about it!

Young Living Essential Oils Giveaway!

Good morning, all! Today I am excited to announce an awesome giveaway both on my blog and my friend, Stephanie Howell's blog!

Let me take you back about a year ago when I was experiencing some health issues and traditional medications were not doing much for me. I had heard of essential oils and was very intrigued to learn more. I got to a point where I was willing to try just about anything so I purchased a premium starter kit from Young Living and gave it a whirl. I quickly discovered that most of the essential oils I tried were making a huge difference for the health issues I was experiencing. I was using them DAILY and the rest of my family was using them too. I also started slowly replacing store bought products with DIY essential oil concoctions - things like foaming hand soap, sugar scrubs, moisturizer, hand sanitizer and more - I was making it for mere pennies and saving money in the process. The initial investment I made was more than paying for itself.

Young Living has a premium starter kit that includes 11 different essential oils, some sample packets plus a diffuser. There are several ways to use essential oils: aromatically (diffuser or inhaling), topically (rubbing into the feet or parts of the body) and some use oils that are generally regarded as food safe internally (examples: citrus oils like Lemon, Lime, Orange and Peppermint). When you purchase a starter kit, you become a wholesale member and can purchase oils/products at 24%.

Be sure to visit Stephanie's blog where we are giving away 5 ml bottles of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint oils! And please leave a comment here to be entered to win a 5 ml bottle of Thieves essential oil! The giveaway will be open until next Friday, December 12th (international entries are welcome!)

Additionally, if you would some more information about essential oils, I'm hosting an online Essential Oils 101 class with my team on Thursday, December 11th at 8:00 p.m. CST. If you would like to learn more information in a fun, no-pressure way please email me at cornellgj@yahoo.com and I'll get you invited to the class on Facebook!

Gossamer Blue: December Memories Inspiration Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Gossamer Blue December Memories Inspiration Blog Hop! Several members of the design team are sharing our ideas with the Gossamer Blue album kit. Be sure to check out my fellow team members for lots of inspiration!

Here's what I do... December is usually an incredibly busy and stressful month so I throw the "daily" idea out the window and make it more about 31 memories of the month. Then, I don't find myself stressing about trying to work on a page of the album every day and I'm not stretching to make up something if we don't do anything on a particular day in December. There are many days where we have more than one memory too.

Here's a peek at my cover this year.... I love this exclusive album and the gold doily had to be a focal point... I jazzed it up with wood veneer and flair.

And here's a look at the inside so far... I honestly didn't do much yet besides set up pages 1-10 with the addition of the "Get Happy" collection wood veneer numbers. I'll add in a lot of details later and make some cover pages as I go.

Webster's Pages: Gingerbread Joy

Today I have a new layout to share featuring the "Gingerbread Village" collection from Webster's Pages. This collection was perfect to use for a layout about creating a gingerbread house! We have started a tradition where we put together our house with my mom. It's very fun to do together!

I cut the ornaments out of the patterned paper in the collection using my Cameo. Then I backed each ornament with vellum. The bow at the top of the gold ornament is vellum and part of the "All That Glitters" collection.

I cut my title using my Cameo and green cardstock. The little "Joy" stickers are mini alphabet stickers.

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Gossamer Blue: Love You & Blog Hop

Today the Gossamer Blue team is showcasing projects we created with the November kits. This layout was created using only the main kit. We were out and about on a gorgeous fall day last month and snapped this photo on my phone. I really loved the exclusive paper I used for the background, designed by One Little Bird.

The Gossamer Blue kits always include exclusive printables and I cut out the circle to use my journaling.

For the title, I used one of the exclusive cut files and then punched out some leaves to draw out the golden color in the background paper.

And here's the rest of the team's projects you can hop around and visit their blogs:

Webster's Pages: Our Family

Good morning! Today I have a new layout to share for Webster's Pages and the gorgeous new collection "The Nest", designed by Brandin O'Neill. We recently had family photos taken by my good friend, Carrie Krupke. I absolutely adored this photo - the trees were just the perfect shade of yellow. It was a beautiful day. I knew I wanted this one to be the first photo I scrapped.

I love the warm colors in this collection and I helped draw it out the orange in our photos with orange cardstock.

I created a simple grid so I could highlight the frames (easily cut out of one of the patterned papers). And I just adore the vellum - perfect for adding a softness to the layout.

Gossamer Blue: Happy Halloween

Good morning! I have one more layout to share with you using the October Gossamer Blue kits - this one focuses on the Life Pages themed add-on with my favorite orange, black and white patterned papers thrown in from the rest of the kits. These are photos from last Halloween when we went to Night Eyes at our local zoo.

I created a couple focal points with the cut out spider webs.

The middle of each spider web is embellished with layered die-cuts and stickers.

I also used my Cameo to cut out the "halloween" part of the title.

I love being able to use so many photos on a two-page layout.

Gossamer Blue: Time for School

Good morning! Today I have another layout to share with the October Gossamer Blue kits. I love the color scheme - of the teal, orange, gold and bright blue. When I saw the alphabet card from Chickaniddy Crafts, I knew I wanted to create a layout to highlight the first day of school.

I cut out the title mostly with my Cameo and used the My Mind's Eye square cut-outs as a focal point on the left hand side of the page.

Those MME die-cuts were a great way to add a splash of color to this layout.

Gossamer Blue: Fall Love

Good morning! We have had quite the month in my family so because things have been a little crazy around here, I haven't had the chance to share more of my work with the October Gossamer Blue kits. I knew I wanted to create a layout highlighting our time at a little pumpkin patch near our house.

I love all the natural elements in the kits this month - the wood veneer and beautiful fall colors.

When I saw these Teresa Collins tags, I knew I wanted to print some of the photos to fit on them and make them a focal point of the layout.

Thank you for stopping by today! :)

Stitch Fix Review #10

Hello! It's been quite a while since I have had a Stitch Fix so I was excited to get one this month. I had some credit leftover from the Mother's Day gift card I won so I saved it to get another fix for fall.  Maggie was my stylist again this month. My items ranged in price from $34-$88.

Here are my reviews for previous fixes: Stitch Fix Review #1, Stitch Fix Review #2, Stitch Fix Review #3, Stitch Fix Review #4, Stitch Fix Review #5, Stitch Fix Review #6, Stitch Fix Review #7, Stitch Fix Review #8, Stitch Fix Review #9.

Here is what I received:
1) Pixley Ivy Petal Print Blouse - I always ask for something floral and while I really loved this blouse, I was not a fan of the $68 price tag. It was a flattering fit but I could not justify paying that much for it.

2) LA MADE Nettie Thermal Dress - I had asked for a navy or black dress that I could wear this winter. I was extremely disappointed in this dress. It was $88 and THERMAL and it was about as flattering as a potato sack. It was way too big on the top.

3) Market and Spruce - Margarie Stripe & Dot Open Cardigan -  I did like the fit and colors of the cardigan. The contrasting patterns were cute but I felt that also limited how I could wear it and for the price ($68), I wanted to have more of a classic piece.

4) LA MADE Mendoza Striped Henley Tank - I also asked for casual tops that I could wear with jeans. I was hoping for something with long sleeves but was sent a couple of tank tops. They are great for layering but this tank felt like something I could buy from Old Navy for much less. I liked it but not the price tag.

5) Olive & Oak Kira Mixed Stripe Racerback Tank - I immediately fell in love with the berry color of this tank - very pretty for fall. And I knew that it would be something I would wear a lot. I tend to like tanks and cardigans with jeans as my fall and winter wardrobe. I don't have anything in this color either.

I ended up keeping the berry tank. It's a great classic piece and the least expensive item that was included. I liked the fall color palette and I know I will wear it often. I have a tiny bit left on my gift card so looks like I'll be getting another fix this winter. Thanks for checking out my review!
Note: This post is not sponsored by Stitch Fix. I used my own money for the styling fee/items. But, I do earn a referral credit if you sign up via my referral link.

Gossamer Blue: Always

Good morning! I'm sorry I seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth the past few weeks. Life has just been very, very busy and I have much to catch up on this week.

Today I have a layout to share with you using the October Gossamer Blue main kit. This one highlights the relationship I have with Miss Lily. I like to create individual layouts about the relationships I have with each of my daughters. And I love to write letters to them on these layouts.

I cut out the circles using my Cameo and just made a variety of sizes. Each circle was then backed with patterned paper and then some were further embellished.

I love the movement from all the circles...this was a fun layout to put together!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back with more soon! :)

Gossamer Blue: Holiday Magic

Good morning! Today I have a new layout to share with you featuring Gossamer Blue's new collection "Get Happy." I'm so excited that Gossamer Blue has branched out into the manufacturing world of products and their new collections do not disappoint!

I chose a few of my favorite Christmas photos from last year of the girls visiting Santa at the mall. I love the colors and patterns in this collection - traditional but not.

"Get Happy" also includes stickers, wood veneer, these great plaid puffy alphabet stickers and enamel dots.

I punched some stars from vellum and outlined them with a gold pen for some extra details.

Thanks for stopping by today! :)
