Midnight Rooster January Kit & Giveaway!

Good morning, friends! It's time for the January kit reveal at Midnight Rooster! This kit was full of great products - in lots of red, green, yellow and cream. Perfect for scrapping some of those new Christmas photos!

For my first layout, I did just that! My little girls are obsessed with mommy and daddy's cell phones so they were delighted to get their own "cell" phones for Christmas this year. I went a little punch crazy this month and accented my layout with snowflake punches by Martha Stewart and Marvy Uchida and a wavy border punch by EK Success. I love that Echo Park number paper - perfect for a layout about phones!

I also misted a couple tags and accented them with punches, the buttons in the kit and twine.

For my second layout, again a little punch crazy and I know this isn't the best photo ever but it's a moment I wanted to document. Yes, I seriously did bawl like a baby at the happiest place on earth. I was overcome with emotion when I saw Cinderella's castle for the first time. It felt like a childhood dream come true - and I'm not ashamed to admit it. :)

I really loved the red thickers in this month kit and they just screamed "Disney layout" to me! :) I added the black Basic Grey stickers from my stash and a couple Jenni Bowlin labels to make my "Mickey Mouse".

I think this ended up as my favorite layout this month. I spent several days in December baking tons of holiday treats and tried some (new to me) family favorite recipes of my grandma's. I LOVE to bake! I misted my kraft cardstock background with Tattered Angels turquoise mist and white mist by Studio Calico. The text background paper is from the Modern Homemaker collection by October Afternoon along with the red strip at the bottom. I used a free application called Poladroid to create that cool effect on my photo!

The little butterfly stick pins are an exclusive item in the kit this month! The journaling label was cut out of Studio Calico patterned paper.

All of the patterned papers on the banner are included in the kit but I added the chipboard by Maya Road from my stash.

Finally, here is my card for this month. "Get Well" seemed appropriate after the last few weeks we had around here! :) All of the patterned papers are by October Afternoon and the corrugated flower is Jillibean Soup (and in the kit). See another butterfly pin?

And, now time for this month's mini kit giveaway! Isn't this mini kit so bright and fun?! YUM!!!

My goal for 2011 is to simplify my life, declutter and destress. I guess I have been feeling kinda bogged down and overwhelmed - so it is time to clean up!!

  8. Great layouts! I love the Disneyland one... I have cried there too, when watching the fireworks and parade. Brings back memories of my Dad taking me there when I was a little girl, and makes me get all teary every time I go.
My goal for 2011 is to make some big changes in my life and get rid of some things that aren't working out. I picture myself in a much happier place after a very long struggle.

  9. One of my 2011 goals is to be more adventurous with my scrapbooking and use tools that I otherwise wouldn't use, like mist. I love it, but I don't use it!

  10. Thanks for sharing! I love what you have done!!

My goal for 2011... well I have the typical lose weight (but we just bought an incline trainer, and I know for sure this year should be a little less stress free), but my other goal is to scrapbook and blog more often. I would also like to be more organized and de-clutter everything. Its going to be a lot of work, but now is the time!

All awesome as usual, Jill! Love the Maya Road banners...I think I have those even. :)

My goal is simply to see that things are better this year. That's also my one little word. If things are better, on any or all fronts in our lives right now, then that's progress to be happy about even if things aren't yet great or perfect, from things around the house to bills to jobs.

  18. I am absolutely always inspired by your craftiness!! Your style is just awesome! I LOVE both the Disney & baking layouts! Everything else is amazing as well, but those 2 strike a cord w/ me.
Not embarrased to admint it either, but this past yr we went to Magic Kingdom & I had a similar moment. I've been there probably 30 times over the past 15 yrs & there was just 'something' about taking my son & baby girl for the 1st time that really got to me. Our completed family. Wholeness. My 1st trip there was with my hubbs 15 yrs ago & its nice that we can take our kids now...something my parents couldn't do when I was young.

My goals for this yr are to seek, receive & give the Lord's peace this year. Have a great day!

  19. I hope am not too late to enter. My main crafting goal this year is to get my business of the ground! I have already registered it last week and am enjoying it.

  20. Among a bunch of goals I have listed above my desk to focus on this year-improve my posture, gain muscle strength and floss! Aside from more time with the Lord and committing a verse to memory once a month, these should help a girl out!

great layouts Jill! I miss seeing you work!
